——

“The first-rate piano duo of Timothy Ehlen and Yu-Chi Tai give us infectious performances of some prime classics from a rich repertory.” — Phil’s Classical Reviews

Formed at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, the Ehlen–Tai Piano Duo joined the Steinway Artist Ensemble roster in 2012. The duo has performed widely in recital and festivals across the United States, including the Montecito International Music Festival, Auer Concert Hall at the Jacob School of Music (Indiana University), and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign. Additional appearances include the UT Piano Festival at the University of Texas–Pan American, the Covenant Chamber Series in California, and Steinway Halls in Los Altos (California), Cleveland–Akron (Ohio), and Springfield (Illinois).

In September 2016, the duo released their debut album, Virtuosic Dance, on Azica Records, an internationally distributed classical label. American Record Guide (Harrington) wrote “I cannot imagine a more convincing performance [of Infante’sDanses Andalouses], and the Ehlen-Tai Piano Duo “competes nicely” with the 2-Piano recording of Argerich and Freire in Rachmaninoff [Suite No. 2], Ravel [La Valse] and Lutoslawski [Paganini Variations].
