Chang Chloe Xie is an accomplished pianist, collaborative artist, and dedicated piano educator known for her commitment to artistic excellence and student development. She is an active adjudicator for piano evaluations, festivals, and competitions, and was honored with the prestigious Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2024 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to music education. A respected leader in the music community, she previously served as Program Chair and currently serves as President of the MTAC San Gabriel Valley Branch.
Originally from Guangzhou, China, Ms. Xie earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Xinghai Conservatory of Music. During her undergraduate studies, she appeared in numerous recitals and competitions, including a notable performance alongside Lang Lang in a tribute to composer Xian Xinghai. She later received her Master of Music degree from California State University, Los Angeles, where she studied piano performance with Dr. Penny Pan and further expanded her musical interests in jazz and Latin American music under Dr. Paul DeCastro. She currently continues her artistic studies with internationally acclaimed pianist Dr. Kevin Fitz-Gerald.
With over two decades of teaching experience, Ms. Xie has established a distinguished record of pedagogical success. Her students have earned top prizes in numerous prestigious competitions, including SYMF, Satori, the Southern California Junior Bach Festival, IAPMT, IPPA, Pacific Stars, the Rhapsody Youth Piano Competition, the American Protégé International Music Competitions, and the Chopin Avenue Piano Competition. Many of her students have also been selected to perform in renowned music festivals throughout Europe.
Ms. Xie is deeply committed to fostering musical growth, artistry, and confidence in her students, and continues to make a meaningful impact as both an educator and performer within the international piano community.
