Piano Assistant Faculty

A pianist known for her delicate expressiveness and broad musical interpretation, Meejee Lee graduated from Sunhwa Arts High School and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano at Sookmyung Women’s University with full scholarships, graduating with high honors. She also completed her doctoral coursework at the Department of Music at the same university.

Meejee Lee has received top prizes and notable placements in international competitions, including the Montecito International Music Festival Piano Competition (USA), Orbetello International Piano Competition (Italy), IAPMT Concours International de Musique (USA), and Festival International de Musica Almeria (Spain).

She has performed on prestigious stages such as the John F. Kennedy Center (USA), Sala Raffaello Hall (Italy), Pianohaus Lepthien (Germany), Unio Music Hall (Spain), Huercal Overal Music Hall (Spain), Kaiser Hall (Vienna), Chappel University Hall (Czech Republic), CKK Jordanki Concert Hall (Poland), Yeongsan Art Hall, Moonho Art Hall, Ceramic Palace Hall, and Cosmos Art Hall. Her performances have garnered praise from international audiences. Notably, she has collaborated with renowned orchestras, including the Romania Oltinia Philharmonic Orchestra, Romania Banatul Timișoara Orchestra, Spain Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna CMS Chamber Orchestra, Russia Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Poland Torun Symphony Orchestra, Spain Diesis Ensemble, and Spain Liria Chamber Orchestra, solidifying her position as an internationally recognized performer.

Additionally, she has held several recitals, including the Meejee Lee Piano Recital, Cosmos Instrument – Boston Conservatory Invitation Concert, the Rachmaninoff 150th Anniversary Concert, the 18th Regular Concert of the International Piano Music Association, and a lecture recital on Beethoven Piano Sonata No.32, Op.111. These performances, featuring a wide-ranging repertoire, have earned her recognition for her deep musical insight.

As the principal accompanist for the Korea Oratorio Singers from 2015 to 2023, she has worked on numerous performances at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center and the IBK Chamber Hall. Furthermore, she has contributed as a teaching assistant at the Piano Department and the Department of Law at Sookmyung Women’s University, gaining experience in education. She continues to combine teaching and performance, pursuing her musical journey.

As a pianist, Meejee Lee strives to expand her musical world through extensive performance activities and a deep commitment to scholarly growth, continuing to communicate deeply with audiences through her music.
