Hannah Yi is a distinguished chamber musician, concert pianist, and esteemed piano pedagogue, recognized for her versatile musicianship and dedication to the arts in Southern California. Her journey in music began under the guidance of Ick-choo and Hae Young Moon, setting the foundation for a rich and diverse educational background. Hannah furthered her studies at several prestigious institutions, including DePaul University, Azusa Pacific University, Eastman School of Music, Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, and Chapman University. Throughout her academic career, she received mentorship from notable pedagogues such as Roza Yoder, Eteri Andjaparidze, Irina Postinokova, Nelita True, and Louise Thomas.

Ms. Yi’s exceptional talent has been recognized through her triumphs in numerous competitions. She is a laureate of the Russian National Piano Competition in San Jose, California, and a recipient of the Union League Civic and Arts Scholarship Competition in Chicago, Illinois. Her profound musicality and technical prowess have not only earned her accolades in competitions but also led to a rich and dynamic performance career.

As a performer, Hannah Yi has a compelling presence on stage and is no stranger to the limelight. She has captivated audiences with live performances on prominent radio stations, including WFMT Chicago and KUSC. Her collaborations extend to numerous orchestras, where she has showcased her artistry as a soloist. These orchestras include the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, Pasadena POPS Orchestra, Antelope Valley Symphony,  and La Mirada Symphony.

In addition to her performing career, Hannah is deeply committed to music education and pedagogy. She has held faculty positions at Azusa Pacific University and Orange County High School of the Arts, imparting her knowledge and passion for music to the next generation of musicians. Currently, she serves on the faculty of Chapman University and Long Beach City College. Hannah is also actively involved with LA Opera Connects and enjoys collaborative projects with local artists across various genres.

As a member of the Long Beach MTAC Branch, Hannah Yi continues to contribute to the musical community through her engagement in professional organizations. Furthermore, she nurtures young talents in her private teaching studio located in her La Palma, California home, where she continues to inspire and shape the musical landscape of Southern California.
